C.A.S.T. Call “Calling All Sorors Together

  My Dear Sorors,

This is a C.A.S.T. Call for the ladies of the Monroe Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I, Rochelle W. Gilbert am Calling All Sorors Together once more to elect me as President for the 2010-2012 Biennium.

Now that my first biennial journey as President of the Monroe Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has come to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to tell all of you what a pleasure, privilege, and honor it has been to serve in this role for the past 2 years. At this time, I am CALLING you to trust me to lead our sisterhood for another 2-year term – with your support.

As noted 2 years ago, I believe the office of Chapter President is vital to the lifetime of our Chapter and requires Effective, Efficient, and Experienced Leadership to advance the Sorority’s mission. The President must be prepared to provide proactive leadership with Vision, Dedication, and Commitment. She must have the ability to communicate with ALL alumnae and collegiate SORORS as well as the community in which we serve, at the local, state, regional, and national levels.

During the past 2 years, TOGETHER we have accomplished tremendous feats, made extensive strides, and ventured into some unchartered territory. I am extremely proud of our many successes: being recognized by Mayor Jamie Mayo, with the Shack Harris Humanitarian Award; hosting World renowned Performer Soror Charlene Ayers for our Annual Arts and Letters event; hosting Regional Director Gwendolyn Grant for Founders Day 2009; hosting National President Cynthia Butler-McIntyre for Founders Day 2010; donating scholarships to local youth; embracing Project ACE (Alumnae Collegiate Exchange); ongoing work with the Delta Academy and Delta GEMS; Membership Intake of 45 new initiates; and many other accomplishments – all the while working TOGETHER. None of this would have been possible without your support, encouragement, and willingness to put in the extra effort it takes to perform with excellence.

With that in mind, during my seventeen years of experience in Delta, I have had the opportunity to establish a record of leadership skills, organizational abilities, and communication capabilities with the assistance of Deltas everywhere. These are just a few of the attributes that will enable me to render effective and efficient service as Chapter President for another term.  I have been able to serve our Sorority on the National, Regional, State, and Local levels.  Each of these experiences has broadened my depth of DELTA knowledge and has expanded my interaction with all sorors.  Most recently, I participated in the Leadership Southwest Regional Class learning more about the inner workings of Sisterhood and Leadership in Delta.  It is with promise and commitment to sovereign sisterhood that I solicit your support in accomplishing this endeavor.

My dear sorors, it is my prayer that this request for your support, and the opportunity to serve again as your next Chapter President, is a resounding positive affirmation to the emphasis on the LEGACY of our Sisterhood. As we continue to be the innovators and community advocates our lifetime commitment requires us to be, We can MOVE Monroe Alumnae to the next level of Sovereign Sisterhood! I am,

"Calling All Sorors Together!"

Yours in Delta,

Rochelle W. Gilbert
